Family Drum Circle
Join us this Fall for a fun family experience into the world of percussion. We learn about the different kinds of drums, keyboard instruments, and various styles of music. Other topics include rhythm, movement , and games while playing the drum of your choice. We will have a drum circle for kids and their families which will be fun for all!!!
Drop & Shop
Let one of our wonderful teachers watch your children while you get your...shopping done...Have a Romantic Dinner, take a nap... get your hair or nails done...Whatever your Fancy! Let them Stay and Play, Sing, Dance, Listen to a great story or two, Do a creative craft, and eat some yummy Snacks. All you need to do is stop by at any one of our Drop & Shop times.
Keyboard Beginnings 1 (Ages 4 - 5)
Taught by composer/pianist and Keyboard Beginnings creator Judy Kagel, children will learn to play the keyboard/piano in a relaxed and positive atmosphere. Attending classes each week with their parents, children will embark on a series of lessons that include singing with guitar accompaniment, dance and movement activities, music appreciation, ear training, musical games, notation and rhythm reading. Children will also experience and play some of the more uncommon instruments such as the Autoharp, ukulele and xylophone.

"Just Do It" Writers Group (adults)How long have you wanted to write your memoir, a short story or even a book of poetry? Sometimes wanting it is nothing but intimidating.
The "Just Do It" method will take you from outline to final edit, and with any luck, publication. But first you have to sit down and write.
Yolanda Fleming, who holds a master's degree in creative writing and has undergone more than 20 years of just doing it, is the perfect cheerleader/drill sergeant combination to help you devise an effective plan for completion. Bring your laptop and a specific goal and learn how to break your work down into manageable bites to get it done.
Little Mozart
Even Mozart had to start somewhere. This class will nurture your child's love of music through a comprehensive introduction to keyboard basics, including ear training, note reading, singing, and playing as an ensemble. A group atmosphere encourages cooperation, listening, and good classroom skills.
Me & Daddy Rock (Ages 3 months - 5 years)
Dads have the opportunity to shake, rattle, and roll with their little rockers in this Saturday morning musical menagerie. Mr. Moms will sing, dance, and play together with their emerging Mozarts. (Moms always welcome, of course) Snacks, drinks, and cd will be provided.
Me & Momma Move & Groove
Moms and kids of all ages will have a blast in this highly energized environment of dance, music, rhythm and fun. Together kids will explore their capacity for creative movement and gain self- confidence, while Moms burn calories, tone and stretch. With a variety of musical styles and props, experience dancing as both a learning tool and one of the most regarded forms of physical exercise and stress release.
Me & Momma Belly Blast
Start your day with an energy blast, powerful music and fun. Belly Blast is Middle Eastern belly dance moves combined with cardio and yoga stretches designed to make you burn calories and strengthen core muscles. Your little ones will learn simple dance steps, deep breathing and counting rhythms.
Me & Momma Rock (Ages 3 months - 5 years)
Parents or care - givers bond with their little ones in this rollicking, fun-filled music program. Jam along with Miss Sherri and her friends. Sing along with Macaroni Pony, Ba Ba Bear, and Honey Girl. Come aboard the Honey Child train, play instruments, and dance to the groovy disco lights. Snacks, drinks, and cd will be provided.
Movers & Shakers
This is not your typical dance class. Boys and girls alike are invited to express themselves in a structured yet free-spirited program combining cool dance steps, music from all over the world, props and games. Designed to nurture both natural performers and reserved personalities, the class is an opportunity for fitness, exploration, confidence building and most of all, fun. No prior dance or movement training necessary.
Musical Enrichment Program
Pre-k and kindergarten music enrichment classes For kids age 4-6 yrs old who are ready to start learning music in a group environment and for young beginners in private lessons. Students do movement, keyboard, rhythm, singing, have exposure to the violin, piano, various percussion instruments, music appreciation, history and crafts to learn music basics. Periodic presentations for parents too!!
Be A Duck (Ages 5-8)
Be a Duck is a motivational class for children ages 5-8 who want to feel great about themselves. This workshop teaches respect for self and others, strategies to raising self-esteem and it empowers children to make responsible decisions. Through music, art and dance, your child will truly embrace the star inside of them and discover how their unique qualities make them so special. Join us and discover the duck in you!
Pajama Family FunJam (Ages 3 months - 4 years)
Welcome to an evening of musical bonding for working Moms, Dads, Grandparents and their little ones alike. This pre bed time class will include such activities such as, playing songs and rhythms on the worlds largest gathering drum, jammers will play with puppets, dance with our magic dancing scarves to a groovy disco tune, explore creative movement, sing a train song, and culminate with a jam song. Snacks, drinks and cds provided.

In this charming musical hour, your budding royalty will learn a grand repertoire of songs themed with knights, fairies, kings, queens, princes, princesses, love, and honor. Children will also be instructed in partner dancing, poise, and etiquette. Each class will culminate with a tea party snack. Children will also receive a cd.
Rhythm Rompers (Ages 3 - 6)
Rocking' rhythms permeate our colorful Honey Child Studio as young rompers are taught basic musical concepts through age appropriate games, singing songs, tonal patterns, and exploration of a variety of percussion instruments. Children will have the opportunity to create an original song. Snacks, drinks and cds provided.
Making Music: Real to Reel (Private Sessions)
Honey Child Music now offers recording-based private instruction! Track your progress on your instrument as you learn the art of multi-track recording. Students will work with the most advanced music technology to capture their new skills on tape. Recordings will offer each student a third person perspective of their playing, an audible copy of new warm-ups, exercises, and everything else introduced in private instruction, and a peak into the endless world of studio music production.
Sing, Dance, Drum & Prance
Come and join us in this musical menagerie filled with rhythm activities, tonal patterns, creative movement activities, games, a class where children will sing songs, play global music from around the world, learn dances from Mexico, Africa, Hawaii and the Caribbean. Spanish Seranade (Ages 3 - 6) [DROP-OFF CLASS]
Through songs, stories, dances and movement activities children will learn to sing and speak in Spanish. We will also explore instruments and do dances which are native to Spanish speaking cultures throughout the world.
Stay & Play
Now in this fun filled hourly program Moms, Dads or caregivers can socialize with friends while their little ones can enjoy a frolicking fun time playing together at Red Bank's hippest music and movement center. Kids will jump for joy over all of the cool music, large variety of puzzles, wooden toys, blocks and instruments available in this new drop in program. Snack & drink provided. Twinkle Toe Tots (Ages 2 - 4 with mom)
Focusing on coordination, imagination and physicality, mother and child will work on partnered movements, group stretching exercises and basic dance technique. We will focus on the enjoyment of creative movement to music. Experience different weekly themes such as: princess and fairytale day, story time dance day and nature and nurture day.
Write Me a Song

Yes, You Can Write a Song! (or Finish the One You Started)This fun, but practical songwriting workshop is appropriate for children 8 thru 108 who are just plain curious about how songs are written. But it will also help those students who have already dabbled in songwriting as well as those further along. Everyone will emerge from the 10 week program knowing how songwriting process works as well as specific ways to complete or improve their songs. Students will have the option of bringing in a song or lyric in progress (and bring copies of the lyric for the class and get their feedback). Instructor will suggest weekly assignments, which are recommended, but optional.
The Workshop Will Cover...
How you start a song?, Where do ideas for songs come from? How do you take a song idea and turn it into a complete song? Learn about the parts of a song (intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, etc,), the lyrical and musical terms of songwriting (hook, musical figure, etc.) the need for rhyme and the various types of rhyme Discussion of a handout, The 10 Most Common Songwriting Mistakes (And How To Avoid Them). "Dissecting" hit songs present and past to shed light on successful components of successful songs Evaluation of student songs and lyrics in progress Group songwriting project
Workshop Requirements: Ages 8 and up with an interest in writing songs or desire to write better, more engaging songs or just simply finish a song. Bring a pen and notebook. Playing an instrument will help, but is not mandatory. Students wishing to present started or completed songs on cassette or CD or may sing and play them on a piano or acoustic guitar may do so (as time permits)
Workshop Length/Day/Time: Classes run Thursdays April 30th thru July 2nd, 4:30 to 6 PM (for Ages 8 thru 12) and 7 PM to 8:30 PM (for Ages 13 and up)
Workshop Cost: Enrollment is limited.
Enrollment: Minimum of 5, Maximum of 25 per class (Note: an additional class may be added on Friday afternoon)
Project: Honey Child Music Lab (Ages 12-17)
Know how to play? Want to learn how to write, record, and produce your own original music with a band of kids just like you! Come to Honey Child after school where you and your classmates will create a professional-grade single from the ground up. This class includes a blend of group and individual instruction in instrumental methods, foundational music theory, song writing, instrumental arranging, and studio recording and production. At the conclusion of the session, each student will receive a finished and mastered copy of the song(s) generated by their class.
Young Writers (ages 12 and up)
Every writer needs a mentor, especially those just beginning to explore their talents for self-expression through literature. Join Yolanda Fleming, who holds a master’s degree in creative writing and a bachelor’s degree in journalism, has enjoyed more than two decades of professionalism including full-time journalism, freelance feature writing for newspapers and magazines, and a full musical production of her play, among other things. Her wide range of creative writing experiences, as well as motherhood, has inspired the urge to help young writers find their "voice." This free-form class will focus closely on each student’s specific interests and writing goals, guiding them through one project of their own choosing at a time, from outline to final edit and finally, publication.
Tiny Dancers (Ages 3 - 5)
Not your typical ballet class. Children will learn to express themselves through ballet dance movement. The class will teach children correct body position using beginner ballet techniques. We will teach simple dance combinations incorporating classical music as well as familiar tunes. Appropriate dance attire requested.
Funky Fusion (Ages 5 - 7)
In this class children will be dancing to upbeat and energetic music. Fusing together traditional jazz dance with modern hip-hop styles. The focus will be on strengthening the core muscles while increasing flexibility. Students will also be encouraged to create their own individual and group dance combinations.
Spirited Soles (Ages 8 - 10)
A "spirited" dance class incorporating contemporary dance with free flowing body expression. Students will learn a broad range of dance movements focusing on finding your center, expressing your emotions and increasing your mobility. Our goal is to create a positive dance environment.
Urban Ballet Groove (Teen and up)
Experience the workout of professional ballet dancers. Set to up-tempo music, students will learn the ballet warm-up based on the "New York City Ballet". Our goal in this class is to incorporate basic ballet techniques, explore creative movement, increase flexibility while strengthening our core muscles. Dance attire requested.
Art Solo (Ages 3½ - 5)
Introduce young artists to multi-media projects through drawing, painting and basic art design. Children will create paper mosaics, and unique multi-faceted creations. Assorted music will be incorporated. Bring a smock. Snacks and drinks will be provided. (Material Fee $10)
Art With Momma (Ages 2½ - 4)
Your budding Picaso's will explore artistic and creative expression using paint, glue, markers, and a variety of materials to create fun projects with parent/ caregiver assistance. Lively Music and seasonal stories will be coordinated with each weekly project. Bring a smock. Snacks and drinks will be provided. (Material Fee $10)
